71% of the Earth's surface is covered by oceans, which are responsible for 70% of the world’s oxygen production, yet we know more about the moon than the deepest parts of the sea. To protect our oceans, and realise their untapped potential, we need to understand them, and then, fall in love with them.
EntrepreneurShipOne (E/One) is a zero-emission sailboat – a refitted 1986 X-Yacht – used to engage people in learning about sustainable solutions. It is also a metaphor for business. Entrepreneurship can’t be taught in school, you learn it by doing it. The same goes for sailing. It’s all about working with the elements, building strong teams, enjoying the journey and being flexible about the path you need to take to get to your end goal.
EntrepreneurShipOne is a platform and brand that enables bright minds to meet, learn and innovate at sea.
We need to teach and practise Value Based Entrepreneurship and Impact Investment to build the businesses thats equipped solve the challenges that lie ahead.
Sailing with Kahoot!
In the early days of Kahoot!, E/One (then known as We Are Human’s “floating office”), was used as a team-building boat. The very first Kahoot!ado (a 3-day annual retreat for the whole company) was held onboard as our team sailed out of the Oslofjord to Oscarsborg and Holmsbu.
George, who built the front end of Kahoot! and later became Head of Data was responsible for navigation – which was only natural given he is a helicopter pilot in his spare time! CTO Morten took charge of the winch and subbed as helmsman. Jamie, a novice at sea but a natural leader, contributed to the buoyant mood onboard!
We used the boat actively for years to build team culture, as part of our interview process and to prepare the team for the journey ahead. From this experience, the idea behind EntrepreneurShip emerged.
Join our voyage
Our idea of value based entrepreneurship is founded on 'paying it forward’.
We share knowledge, guide those who may benefit from it and make connections others could not.
All in the spirit of contributing towards something larger than oneself that has value for the many, not the few.
